Helloguys, hope you're all having a great day. I am looking to upgrade my RAM from 4GB to either 8GB or 16 GB. My main use of PC is hardcore gaming.(Need additional ram mainly for Battlefield 4) 1st Question. Would games benefit from 16GB ram or should I just go for 8GB ram? 2nd Question. What Ram Should I get. youCANNOT mix ranks in a memory bank. A single-rank DIMM has one set of memory chips that is accessed while writing to or reading from the memory. A dual-rank DIMM is similar to having two single-rank DIMMs on the same module, with only one rank accessible at a time. A quad-rank DIMM is, effectively, two dual-rank DIMMs on the same module. Theshort answer is yes 8GB of RAM is enough for streaming, but the days of 8GB being enough are slowly coming to an end. The problem with having only 8GB of RAM in your Streaming PC is that the quality of your streams may suffer depending on how demanding the games you stream are. Most games today require well over 4GB of RAM and some games ATech 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3/DDR3L 1600MHz PC3L-12800 (PC3-12800) CL11 SODIMM 2Rx8 1.35V 204-Pin Non-ECC SO-DIMM Laptop, Notebook RAM Memory Modules Genuine OEM 16GB Laptop Ram HMA82GS6CJR8N-VK 16GB (1X16GB) PC4-21300 DDR4-2666MHz Non-ECC Unbuffered CL19 260-Pin SoDimm 1.2V Single Rank Laptop Memory RAMcomes in the following sizes: 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. The higher the GB, the more storage your RAM has. You can get by on 4GB but your laptop is going to be pretty slow when it comes to doing anything beyond basic tasks. Most newer Macbook Pros come with at least 8GB of RAM.
Thedifference can be immediately noticed when you switch on the MacBook Pro: the RAM-only upgrade results in a 25% faster system boot, the SSD upgrade noticeably reduces boot time by 54%. Compared to the performance boost of a SSD, the "fully tuned" system (RAM upgrade plus SSD) only squeezes out 2 more seconds during system boot.
